Son’s feet on a Wednesday morning

After a busy day at work I got home and got started with this piece. This scene has been on my mind for a couple of days. One morning my son was asleep with his feet popping out of the bedsheets - toes deeply asleep, but with curves and chubbiness revealing bustling Life doing its job inside, just beneath the pinkish skin. I smiled when I saw this and took a photo, so now I have something to refer to while I’m painting. This is the first stage - staining the canvas. While putting my oils on, I try to remember that warm feeling in my heart when I observed these lovely feet. One of those everyday life scenes I’m super grateful for.
