Karolina Morinaga is a Warsaw born and Tokyo based painter and illustrator. She finds inspiration in everyday life, especially within nature and city architecture. When she is not drawing, she is playing with her cat, doing yoga and taking pictures of Tokyo bridges. Incidentally, she has a Ph.D. in Japanese literature from Warsaw University and has published a book “Mysterious depth yugen in Japanese poetry”. She retold and illustrated an old Japanese folktale “The Jizo and Bamboo Hats” and is the author of “Yummy Yummy Month by Month: Fruits & Vegetables in Season in Japan”.
