Defying perfection

“If you think good work is synonymous with perfect work, you are headed for big trouble.” (from Art and Fear by David Bayles & Ted Orland)

Last week I went to the beach. One of the really cool things about living in Tokyo is that it’s only 1.5 hours away from the ocean. It was a sunny and very windy day. The ocean was roaring, the waves getting bigger and bigger. The wind threw some sand and drops of the ocean onto my paper covered with watercolors… The drops washed away some of the paint, mixed colors as they pleased… Co-creation at its best.
